artist: John BOCK

John Bock emerges as a philosopher of chaos. He has built through his work a world where logic is almost always connected with bewilderment; where everything is connected and but, yet again, dissociated at the same time.
The artist works on concreteness and assumed appearances, creating a real world in which the absurd conjugates its very existence somewhere in between logic and imagination. Therefore, his work appears as a conglomerate of ideas, each of them identifiable within this collage, a narrative of various languages. We could define his work as a sort of mapping of everyday life facts and of ”parascientific” knowledge, that turn into an immutable theater of the absurd.
The present exhibition addresses the video installation ”Schwachomat” (weak-minded), dated in 2000.
